Ask any teacher in an under-served school and they’ll tell you: a hungry child cannot learn. Our mid-day meal program was born from that simple, powerful truth.
More than a meal
For many of the children we serve, the meal they receive at our centre is the most nutritious — sometimes the only complete — meal of their day. That plate of food does something remarkable: it brings children through the door, and once they are through the door, they learn.
Hunger clouds concentration, weakens immunity and drives absenteeism. A warm, balanced meal reverses all three at once.
How we serve
- Freshly cooked, balanced meals served daily at our centres
- Community kitchens supporting the most vulnerable families
- Monthly dry-ration kits for households in deep need
- Special meals during festivals so no one is left out
- Emergency food during heatwaves, floods and other crises
The ripple effect
Attendance rises. Children grow healthier. Parents, relieved of one daily worry, engage more with their children’s learning. What begins as a plate of food becomes better health, better attendance and better futures — a ripple that spreads through the whole community.
